A few years ago, my wife and I started ringing in the New Year with our young kids. Rather than try and keep their eyes pried open until midnight, we would set the clocks in our house gradually ahead throughout the day, so that by 9 p.m. our clocks actually read 12 a.m.
Last year, Pinckney Hugo Group decided to share this tradition by building a countdown timer to help add to the lie/fun. The kids loved it, so we've updated it for 2011.
How it works:
Just pick the time you want it to reach "midnight" and start setting your clocks ahead. With 10 seconds to go in the hour, you'll hear a crowd count down as the ball drops, until it reaches "0" and lights up "2011."
Enjoy & Happy New Year!
